HP ElitePad 900 announced
When it comes to the world of tablets, there aren’t too many choices if you were to take the operating system as the defining factor. After all, most folks would go for one of the two – Android or iOS, although it does seem as though iOS is going to remain top dog for some time to come. We might hear whispers of Microsoft’s Windows RT and Windows 8 operating systems making a splash later this year, but they are still an unproven equation, so the Android-iOS argument will just have to continue at this point in time. Well, here we are with yet another tablet device that has entered the market – the HP ElitePad 900, and no surprises here, it will run on the Windows 8 platform which might just be Microsoft’s next big hit in the mobile arena.
IRIScan Express 3 portable scanner
We have seen our fair share of portable scanners in the past, and I do admit that these little buggers come in extremely handy. After all, we do intend to move towards a paperless society, and with the number of receipts as well as business cards that one needs to keep track of each day (being busy little bees and all), having a portable scanner makes plenty of sense. You need not have to figure out just what kind of stuff you will need to throw away in order to make more room for a new collection of receipts and documents that you think are important. Just scan both sides of a receipt, stash the receipts away, and when there is no more room, recycle those – after all, you still carry a digital copy with you. Well, here we are with yet another option for those who are in the market for a portable scanner – the IRIScan Express 3.
Libratone Zipp AirPlay speaker is a true blue portable device
Libratone has just made an announcement for the first no-compromise and hassle-free wireless speaker in the market, calling it the Libratone Zipp. You know that you have got yourself quite the winner here with the Libratone Zipp, where it comes in an attractive and compact form factor that is also proud to be the first and only device which is capable of delivering the performance and convenience of AirPlay without having to have a Wi-Fi network in the vicinity. Not only that, you are able to kiss goodbye to all kinds of complicated setup courtesy of Libratone’s all-new PlayDirect technology.
Ferrofluid Magnetic Display
No matter how old you are, surely the child in you still yearns to play. After all, we learn best when we play, and even in the animal kingdom, basic survival skills are picked up when a litter of puppies or kittens (big cats in the wild, too) play with one another. As for humans, here is one desktop toy that you might want to purchase for yourself or as a gift for a good friend, as the $29.99 Ferrofluid Magnetic Display certainly makes for a decent stress reliever – far better than just squeezing and letting go of a stress ball or to blow right into a paperbag, I say! Touted to be utterly addictive, you will obviously use magnets provided with the Ferrofluid Magnetic Display to make the fluid “dance”. Hand-crafted in the USA, ferrofluid is actually a kind of colloidal liquid that is made of particles less than 10 nanometers in diameter. Whenever they are subjected to a magnetic field, the nanoparticles will form regular patterns of peaks and valleys, and in the world of electronics, those are are used to form liquid seals in order to prevent debris from getting into a hard drive. Have a good time creating artistic masterpieces for yourself and others to admire during those free moments at the office.
A Healing Headset
We like to think that putting on headphones or headsets can do more than just corrupting our eardrums. Sure, listening to tunes or podcasts can relax us – or get us worked up. But what if a headset could really impact health? A Los Angeles-based medical device company is en route to using a sepecial headset as an additional treatment for epilepsy and depressive disorders.
